Overview

The Icetubs IceBath Cold Plunge – Thermowood & Stainless Steel (SKU 130327) combines the comfort of a reclining ice bath with precision water temperature control, premium materials, and an integrated cooling system. Designed for one person, the IceBath offers a bath-style immersion experience that allows you to stretch out rather than sit upright in a traditional cold plunge barrel.

Handcrafted with a 304-grade stainless steel interior and Thermowood exterior, the IceBath features a sleek, contemporary design suitable for appropriately prepared indoor and outdoor spaces. Its angled backrest provides a supported reclining position, while its relatively low profile makes entry and exit similar to using a bathtub.

The included 1 HP Icetubs cooling engine electronically cools water to temperatures as low as 37.4°F (3°C), eliminating the need to manually add ice before each session. Adjust the water temperature using the engine's integrated controls or the compatible Icetubs mobile app. Three-stage filtration, a replaceable 5-micron filter, and an integrated ozone system support routine water maintenance.

For homeowners interested in both cold and warm immersion, Icetubs also offers an optional heater upgrade capable of warming the water to 100.4°F (38°C). Heater inclusion must be confirmed for the selected configuration.

With a 106.7-gallon capacity, insulated Thermo Cover, and complete cooling system, the Icetubs IceBath offers a premium solution for homeowners who prefer reclining cold-water immersion. Compared with the IceBath XL, the standard model occupies less space while maintaining the same essential design and cooling features.

Features

  • Comfortable Reclining Cold Plunge: The bath-style interior allows one person to lie back during immersion instead of maintaining the upright position required by traditional barrel cold plunges.
  • Space-Conscious Standard Size: Measuring 88.9 inches long, 27.5 inches wide, and 25.2 inches high, the IceBath is shorter and narrower than the IceBath XL while retaining its reclining design.
  • 304-Grade Stainless Steel Interior: A premium stainless steel basin offers a smooth soaking surface and contemporary appearance, with maintenance requirements specified by Icetubs.
  • Thermowood Exterior: The heat-treated wood exterior adds warmth and natural character while offering improved resistance to environmental exposure compared with untreated wood.
  • Included 1 HP Cooling Engine: The Icetubs Engine electronically cools and circulates the water, reducing the time, expense, and inconvenience of purchasing ice.
  • Cooling to 37.4°F: The manufacturer lists a minimum water temperature of 37.4°F (3°C), allowing users to select a preferred cold immersion setting within the system's capabilities.
  • Optional Heater Upgrade: When equipped with Icetubs' compatible heater upgrade, the system can warm water to 100.4°F (38°C) for an alternative soaking experience.
  • 106.7-Gallon Water Capacity: The 400-liter basin provides room for full-body individual immersion in a supported reclining position.
  • Wi-Fi and App Connectivity: Compatible Icetubs mobile-app functions allow supported remote temperature adjustments, monitoring, and scheduling.
  • Integrated Engine Display: Adjust operating settings directly from the engine's control panel and LED interface without relying on a smartphone.
  • Auto/Eco Mode: The cooling engine includes an automatic operating mode for regulating water temperature under the manufacturer's recommended settings.
  • Three-Stage Water Filtration: An integrated circulation and filtration system helps remove suspended debris from the water.
  • Replaceable 5-Micron Filter: The fine filtration cartridge captures small particles and is designed for convenient replacement during routine maintenance.
  • Integrated Ozone System: Built-in ozone treatment provides supplemental water sanitation alongside filtration and approved water-care practices.
  • Insulated Thermo Cover: The included locking cover helps reduce unwanted heat transfer and prevents debris from entering the tub between sessions.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Installation: Suitable for properly prepared locations that meet Icetubs' structural, electrical, ventilation, drainage, and environmental requirements.
  • No Permanent Plumbing Required: The IceBath can be filled and drained using the manufacturer's approved hose connections and drainage procedures.
  • Complete Cooling Package: The tub is supplied with its dedicated cooling engine and connection components, unlike standalone cold plunge tubs that require a separately purchased chiller.

The Icetubs Drip Tray Large, phone holder, replacement filter sets, and water-care products are separate accessories unless expressly included in the confirmed package.

Installation

The Icetubs IceBath is intended for installation on a stable, level surface capable of supporting the complete system, water, and occupant. It is suitable for indoor or outdoor placement when the location meets the manufacturer's structural, electrical, drainage, ventilation, and weather-protection requirements.

Space Planning: The standard IceBath measures 88.9 inches long, 27.5 inches wide, and 25.2 inches high, including the engine assembly. Allow additional clearance for safe entry and exit, removal of the Thermo Cover, cleaning, filter replacement, engine ventilation, and servicing. Follow the current Icetubs installation manual for exact clearances.

Foundation Requirements: The manufacturer lists an empty system weight of 341.7 pounds and a filled weight of approximately 1,223.6 pounds before adding an occupant. Verify that the floor, deck, patio, or foundation can safely support the total operating load. Have a qualified contractor or structural engineer assess elevated platforms when load capacity is uncertain.

Indoor Installation: Position the IceBath on a level, waterproof or appropriately moisture-resistant floor near suitable drainage. Provide sufficient ventilation around the cooling engine, which releases heat during operation. Avoid carpeting and locations where condensation or splashing could damage nearby materials or electrical equipment.

Outdoor Installation: Choose a structurally sound, level location with adequate drainage. Follow Icetubs' instructions regarding ambient temperatures, freezing conditions, electrical protection, and ventilation. Protect the engine's power connections and safety devices from standing water and inappropriate moisture exposure.

Cooling Engine Installation: Connect the engine to the IceBath using the supplied connectors and rubber seals, following the current Icetubs installation diagram. Ensure all water connections are properly seated and secure. Observe the manufacturer's transportation and startup instructions before operating the cooling equipment.

Electrical Requirements: U.S. distributor specifications list a 110V/60Hz engine with a maximum current of 14.5A. International manufacturer documentation describes different electrical configurations. A licensed electrician must verify the exact supplied engine's nameplate, outlet requirements, circuit capacity, grounding, GFCI protection, and applicable local electrical codes before operation. Do not assume the specifications of an international version apply to the U.S. unit.

Filling and Draining: The IceBath does not require a permanently connected household water line. Fill the tub with clean water using the manufacturer's approved hose attachment and observe the specified water level. Follow the correct draining procedure and ensure the discharge area can accommodate the water being released.

Initial Startup: Check the engine connections, filter installation, and water level before switching on the cooling system. Complete any required priming and water-flow checks. Once the engine is operating correctly, adjust the desired temperature and connect the mobile app if desired.

Operation and Usage

The Icetubs IceBath provides adjustable cold-water immersion through its included cooling engine. Water temperature can be controlled using the engine panel or supported mobile-app functions, allowing the tub to reach and maintain the selected setting without manually adding ice. Warm-water operation is available only with the applicable heater configuration.

  • Starting the System: Confirm that the tub is filled to the required level, the filter is properly installed, and water circulation is unobstructed. Start the engine according to Icetubs' operating instructions.
  • Cold Plunge Temperature: Select the preferred water temperature using the engine controls or compatible app. The manufacturer lists a minimum cooling temperature of 37.4°F (3°C), subject to environmental and operating conditions.
  • Optional Warm-Water Mode: With the compatible heater upgrade installed, the system can heat water to 100.4°F (38°C). Do not attempt to activate heating unless the supplied equipment includes the manufacturer-approved heating configuration.
  • Reclining Immersion: Enter the bath carefully and use the angled backrest for a supported reclining position. The standard IceBath is designed for one person at a time.
  • Wi-Fi and App Control: Connect the Icetubs engine to a compatible Wi-Fi network using the manufacturer's mobile-app instructions. Supported controls allow convenient temperature management and scheduling.
  • Auto/Eco Mode: Use the engine's automatic operating mode according to the manufacturer's instructions. Actual energy consumption varies depending on ambient conditions, selected temperature, and operating duration.
  • Three-Stage Filtration: The integrated circulation system moves water through multiple filtration stages, while the replaceable 5-micron filter helps capture suspended particles and debris.
  • Ozone Sanitation: The built-in ozone system supplements approved water-care procedures. It does not eliminate the need for appropriate water testing, maintenance, cleaning, or periodic water replacement.
  • Filter Maintenance: Icetubs generally recommends replacing the filter approximately every month with typical use. Follow the manufacturer's current maintenance guidance and replace filters more frequently when water conditions require it.
  • Approved Water Treatments: Use only products approved by Icetubs for the stainless steel system. Icetubs recommends its AquaFinesse water-care program for standard residential maintenance and warns against chlorine, bromine, salts, and corrosive chemicals unless a specific professional system is expressly approved.
  • Using the Thermo Cover: Secure the included cover when the IceBath is not in use to help reduce heat transfer and keep debris out of the water. The cover is not a substitute for supervision or appropriate child-safety measures.
  • Cleaning the Interior: Clean the stainless steel basin using manufacturer-approved methods and products. Avoid abrasive brushes, harsh chemicals, and unsuitable cleaning agents that can damage the finish.
  • Water Replacement: Monitor water quality and replace water as required by usage, maintenance recommendations, and the condition of the filtration system. Follow the manufacturer's drainage and cleaning procedures.
  • Cold-Weather Operation: Follow Icetubs' specific requirements for freezing temperatures, engine operation, and storage. Never allow water to freeze in equipment or plumbing outside the manufacturer's approved conditions.

Important: Cold-water immersion can produce rapid breathing and significant cardiovascular stress. Begin with conservative temperatures and short sessions, avoid plunging alone, and exit immediately if you experience dizziness, chest discomfort, breathing difficulty, weakness, or loss of coordination. Do not practice breath-holding or hyperventilation while immersed. Consult a healthcare professional before cold-water immersion if you have cardiovascular concerns or other relevant medical conditions.
